Our founder Bob Dawson and our longtime Senior Advisor former Cong. Martin Lancaster (NC) have an article in The Hill this morning on successful infrastructure policy. Both men served as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works and were involved in previous Federal infrastructure laws.
An excerpt:
The economic stakes for federal infrastructure legislation are huge. The U.S. is part of a competitive global economy and the competition is only going to intensify…. If we allocate federal funds toward our ports, inland waterways and flood protection in an effective, efficient way, we will spur growth, protect the environment, reduce transportation costs and improve the competitiveness of our products, particularly farm products.
The article goes on to suggest several specific policies for Congress to include in future infrastructure legislation.
