Dawson & Associates supports SAME's 2022 Capital Week

More than 675 professionals attended the recent Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) 2022 Capital Week in Washington, DC. The three-day gathering included strategic discussions, industry-government engagement, and networking opportunities. Specifically, SAME members had a chance to hear about the projected upcoming fiscal year engineering, construction and environmental programs from contracting representatives, flag and general officers, and senior executive service leaders from the engineering components of the military services and select federal agencies.

SAME’s recent discussion of federal construction

with senior Army Corps of Engineers panelists

Our colleague Rick Stevens, who was Deputy Commander of the Army Corps of Engineers prior to joining Dawson & Associates in 2018, moderated a panel discussion titled, “Army Design & Construction Programs.” This session looked at the Army’s FY22 and FY23 military construction programs.

Participants included four senior officials at the Corps of Engineers:

  • Christine Altendorf Ph.D., P.E., PMP, SES, Director, Military Programs, USACE

  • Stacey Hirata P.E., SES, F. SAME, Chief, Military Programs Integration Division, USACE

  • Pete Perez P.E., SES, Chief of Engineering and Construction, USACE

  • Jill Stiglich SES, Director of Contracting, USACE

Dr. Altendorf and her team are responsible for providing programmatic policy and management of worldwide military construction programs assigned to USACE.

D&A is proud to have contributed to SAME’s efforts at forging strong partnerships between federal agencies, including the Army Corps of Engineers, and the private sector.
