The senior advisors at Dawson & Associates have extensive experience working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the Environmental Protection Agency and other federal agencies involved in approving natural resources projects. In recent years, the leasing and permitting process for these activities has become more complex as, for example, the EPA has become more engaged in overseeing the process.

This can create uncertainty regarding requirements and the eventual outcome, particularly when the activities involve high value wetlands and other important habitats.

The Dawson & Associates team understands more than just the laws and the science involving federal natural resources policies. We also understand how changing dynamics at these federal agencies can affect their decisions. That’s why Dawson & Associates has successfully represented clients with leasing and permitting issues involving such diverse federal laws and agencies as:

  • The Endangered Species Act administered by the U.S. Department of Interior’s Fish and Wildlife Service,

  • The Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act administered by the Department of Commerce’s National Marine Fisheries Service, and

  • The National Historic Preservation Act, administered by the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation and state historic preservation officers.

Our knowledge enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of all our client services. Clients who work with Dawson & Associates receive our help in many areas including identifying applicable requirements as part of the proposal process and focusing information to address those requirements. We also work closely with our clients during the approval process, helping them overcome new issues or delays in a timely fashion.
