Lt. Gen. Paul George Cerjan, (USA), R.I.P.

Updated: Jun 6, 2020

With heavy hearts, we pause to pay tribute to one of our Dawson & Associates family, Lieutenant General Paul G. Cerjan.  Paul passed away on Sunday, April 17 at his home in Valrico, Florida.

Paul joined our firm last year after 33 years of active duty in the United States Army and 17 years of dedicated work in the private sector.  A graduate of West Point, he had a remarkable career that included service as the Deputy Commander in Chief, United States Army Europe and Seventh Army, followed by President of the National Defense University.  Following this remarkable career in the Army, Paul became President of Regent University and then directed several overseas operations in support of our military.

Paul’s citations during his three decades of service include the Distinguished Service Medal, the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Bronze Star Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters).

In his spare time, Paul loved to coach football, which he’d tell people was probably more important than a lot of his official duties during his early years.

LTG (ret.) Paul G. Cerjan was an extraordinary combination of intellect and leadership. We at D&A are proud to have had him as a part of our team.

We will certainly miss Paul.

General Paul Cerjan’s family asks in lieu of flowers, that you consider a donation in Dad’s honor to either Wounded Warrior (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or FaithWalk International (www.FaithWalkIntl.com)
