Former Commandant, Defense Systems Management College Joins Dawson

Brigadier General (Ret) Frank Anderson, Jr.


(Washington, DC) – Brigadier General (Ret) Frank Anderson, former Commandant of the Defense Systems Management College and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Contracting, has joined Dawson & Associates as a Senior Advisor, the firm announced today.


Founded in 1997, Dawson & Associates is the nation’s premier government relations and public affairs firm for defense, transportation, water and natural resource environmental permitting.


Dawson & Associates includes more than 12 former Flag Officers, primarily from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers but also including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and the National Oceanographic Administration. The firm also includes former Members of Congress H.L. “Sonny” Callahan, Ralph Regula, and Martin Lancaster.


A graduate of the Defense Systems Management College and Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Gen. Anderson has held several leadership positions involving Federal procurement and contracting including Commandant of the Defense Systems Management College and Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Contracting.


He also served as a major weapon system program director, product group manager, and director of contracting for the Air Force’s largest buying/acquisition center. He commanded the largest Air Force B-1B in-plant contract management office and Director of an in-plant Sub-Contract Management Division and led Contractor Procurement System Reviews.


Gen. Anderson was twice awarded the Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award, the highest performance excellence award presented by the President and Secretary of Defense.


He has degrees from Chapman University and Central Michigan University.
