After nearly 40 years as a civilian employee of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Dwight Beranek, PE, CFM has extensive experience in water resources, federal/public administration, engineering and construction, and strategic planning.
Dwight is an expert in architectural issues and federal engineering policies involving the Corps of Engineers regulations. As Deputy Director of Military Programs, based at Corps Headquarters in Washington D.C., Dwight provided oversight of the Corps' multi-billion-dollar-per-year military programs.
Previously, he was the Chief of Engineering and Construction for the Corps, also at the headquarters location, where he served as the Corps' civilian chief engineer for civil works and military missions. Dwight has also served as Director of Engineering for the Great Lakes and Ohio River Divisions of the Corps, working extensively with military, state, and local officials to deliver military construciton and water resources solutions.
After retiring from the Corps, Dwight served as Senior Vice President for Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a publicly traded transportation and water resources architect-engineering firm. He led Baker's $750M Flood Map Modernization contract for FEMA for three years. He served as Baker's DOD business development leader before retiring in 2011.
