An attorney and advocate, Craig translates the goals and business objectives of corporate and public sector clients into congressional and agency action. Applying more than 35 years of experience with defense, environmental, and natural resource issues, he provides insight to decision makers and stakeholders, helping clients develop and implement their strategic initiatives. 

While focused on the Department of Defense, he has significant experience with the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency. Craig also assists public ports and private developers with infrastructure and land use matters with the Corps of Engineers. 

As a career military officer, Craig led combat engineer units in Europe and crafted Army budgets in the Pentagon. He practiced as a trial attorney with the Corps of Engineers in Washington, DC and Germany, specializing in architect-engineer and construction litigation. As a lieutenant colonel and professional engineer at Corps headquarters, he managed $1.2 billion in hazardous waste remediation at hundreds of DOD, BRAC, and EPA Superfund sites nationwide. 

Of note, Craig was project manager at Spring Valley, the Corps’ cleanup of a WWI chemical weapons testing facility in Washington, DC. He successfully concluded a CERCLA mandated cleanup on that $20 million Superfund project in only two years. 

After completing his military career, for six years Craig was a corporate vice president at a Fortune 1000 engineering firm. He played a key role as the corporation’s Washington DC advocate, as the firm doubled its revenue to over $1.3 billion. 

Before joining Dawson and Associates, Craig practiced with an Oregon law firm for ten years as a lobbyist, and on legal matters involving construction law and government contracts, including contract formation and federal claims resolution.
