It’s nearly the last Monday in May; a day to shine a light on the generations of brave servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives for others. This year, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the departure of the last American troops from Vietnam, Dawson & Associates pays special tribute to the more than 58,000 servicemembers lost there.
Memorial Day is rightfully a day of solemn remembrance – of lives lost, dreams unfulfilled, families and comrades-in-arms with wounds that can never be fully healed. It is a day to reflect not only on the fallen and the families of the fallen, but also remember the burdens carried by those who experienced the trauma of a combat loss firsthand. It is perhaps as much for those who live each day with the memories of the lost that we resolve to avert the so-called second death that comes from a life forgotten.
The Dawson family is proud to have many Vietnam Veterans among our ranks:
Bill Hartwig,
Hank Hatch,
Bill Navas,
Pete Offringa,
Thomas Sands,
Ted Stroup,
Rob Vining,
Estus Whitfield,
Art Williams, and
Charles Williams.
In their name, we collectively offer humble thanks and heartfelt reflection this Memorial Day weekend to honor all the men and women who died while in military service.
