As CEO, Steve Dawson is the highest-ranking executive in Dawson & Associates, responsible for overall strategic direction, decision-making, and management. With over 20 years of experience in government relations strategy and advocacy, Steve’s leadership and expertise have been an integral part of the firm’s record of success and sustained growth.

Before his appointment as CEO, Steve held multiple key roles within the firm, including Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and General Counsel.  In these capacities, he helped shape successful client campaigns on a broad spectrum of legislative, agency policies, and business strategies. His deep expertise in federal policy and environmental law established a foundation of trust and reliability for Dawson & Associates’ network of experts, enabling them to deliver accurate, timely, and legally sound advice.

Steve earned an LL.M. in Environmental Law from George Washington University Law School and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He is a proud member of the Virginia State Bar Association.
