STEPHEN D. LUFTIG, P.E.

Stephen D. Luftig is a Senior Advisor with over thirty years of broad environmental restoration experience with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), retiring from its Washington, D.C. headquarters in 2004 where he held various responsible program management positions for over a decade. These included Superfund Program Director, Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response, and land restoration and Urban River Restoration efforts at contaminated sites throughout the country. Prior to that he held several engineering and management positions in EPA’s New York City regional office, including director of its Superfund program. He presently serves on the faculty of the City University of New York.

He holds several Presidential Awards, among others.

Mr. Luftig holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree from City College of New York and an M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from New York University. He is a registered professional engineer in New York.
