Biography
Bill Gianelli has a extensive background in civil engineering and water resources. His decades of planning, engineering, and construction experience include six years as Director of the California Department of Water Resources. During his tenure, he oversaw construction and operation of California’s $2.5 billion State Water Project.
In 1981, President Ronald Reagan appointed Bill as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works. For three years, he was responsible for overseeing the Civil Works program of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He also served eight years as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Panama Canal Commission.
Bill holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
