LLOYD A. DUSCHA, P.E.
Lloyd A. Duscha, P.E., is a Senior Advisor at Dawson & Associates. He served over forty years in responsible positions with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the planning, design, and construction of major water resources projects and military facilities. He retired as the Deputy Director of the agency's Engineering and Construction Directorate with worldwide responsibilities.
Prior to that he was Chief of Engineering in the Washington headquarters of the Corps and earlier in other Corps regional offices. In recent years he has been a consultant to the World Bank, engineering firms, and governments on projects in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the United States, including Three Gorges Dam in China and the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. Mr. Duscha was the Corps' Dam Safety Officer with extensive expertise in seismic, hydrologic, and other dam embankment and structural safety matters.
Mr. Duscha holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota , and is a registered professional engineer in Minnesota . He has numerous professional affiliations and awards, and has authored a large number of publications. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering , has served on numerous study committees for the National Research Council, and he is past president of the U.S. Committee on Large Dams.
