WASHINGTON , DC - Dawson & Associates today distributed holiday greetings cards to colleagues, clients and friends wishing them season's greetings and best wishes for the New Year. This year's card features the artwork of Lieutenant General (ret) Arthur "Art" Williams, the 48th Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a Senior Advisor at Dawson & Associates. After completing a distinguished military career, General Williams pursued a lifelong dream to become a watercolor artist.
"General Williams pursues his artwork with the same passion and talent as he did as a military officer," says company President, Bob Dawson. "We are pleased to be able to extend our best wishes to all during this holiday season in a manner that also showcases the work of this accomplished artist."

Art Williams is an example of a person who completes one distinguished career and then pursues a lifelong dream (to become a watercolor artist). Born and raised in Watertown , New York , he followed his early desire to become a civil engineer. He entered the U.S. Army and began a military career which lasted 34 years, including service as Director of Civil Works in the Corps Headquarters and Division Engineer for the Lower Mississippi River Division and the Pacific Ocean Division. He also served as President of the Mississippi River Commission. He retired in 1996 from the Army as a Lieutenant General after serving as the 48 th Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He began his service at Dawson & Associates soon thereafter.
In 1996, he and his wife, Carole, moved to Fort Myers , Florida, and he started beginner classes in watercolor, following his other lifelong dream. He has continued to enhance his artistic talents by painting with a variety of established artists. He now sells his art through the Herons Nest Restaurant, Herons Glen Golf and Country Club, N. Fort Myers, and has become, after selling dozens of paintings, one of those "established artists."
