Hon. John Myers

Congressman Myers served as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee’s Energy and Water Subcommittee, where he oversaw funding for water resources programs of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  His subcommittee also oversaw funding for energy research programs, nuclear power and weapons, and programs of other agencies.

Rep. Myers also served on the Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration Subcommittee and the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct. A fiscal conservative, Mr. Myers was known for his successful efforts to control federal spending and for his knowledge of water resources and energy appropriations issues.

Mr. Myers served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and is a former Infantry Battalion Commander in the Army Reserves.
