Former Commander of the Corps of Engineers South Atlantic & South Pacific Divisions Joins Dawson

Brig. Gen. (ret) Dave Turner, who commanded both the South Atlantic and South Pacific Divisions for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, has joined Dawson & Associates as a Senior Advisor.

Dave is the 20th former Corps of Engineers commander to join our firm.

During his 33 years with the Army, Dave established a reputation for operational and strategic leadership. As commander of the Corps of Engineers South Atlantic Division (SAD) for 3 years, Dave oversaw planning, design, and project construction across 8 Southeastern states, the U.S. Virgin Island and Puerto Rico.  Under his leadership, SAD succeeded in modernizing 2 regional water control manuals that had not been updated since the 1950s.

Dave also commanded the Corps of Engineers South Pacific Division headquartered in San Francisco, CA. As Commander, he facilitated progress on a Corps’ $700 million Folsom Dam upgrade. He also oversaw a modernization and streamlining of the region’s regulatory permitting process.

As Chief of Staff at Corps of Engineer Headquarters, Dave served as principal advisor to the Commander and Deputy Commander.  He led policy development for the Corps of Engineers IT transformation and sensitive furlough execution.
